Below are the assignments for the small group meetings in Tapped In on Thursday the 15th. If you do not see your name on the list, please let me know.

Please spend your time discussing the ideas and examples in Bruckman's MOOSE CROSSING material that you read for this week. You can also add any other ideas you wish related to the general topic of distributed learning. Remember that--just as with face-to-face meetings--the discussion will be successful only if you come prepared with a set of points about Bruckman's work you want to share with the others in your group.

Also, advance practice in Tapped In will help you become more comfortable with the unusual "rhetoric" of this environment. Think about how you want to convey your identity through the description you can enter of your avatar. Remember to "emote" what you are feeling during the conversation, to provide cues to others on whether you are intrigued, bored, confused, etc. While others are talking, use the whiteboard to post questions that the discussion suggests to you, so that everyone can simultaneously see the issues that each person is identifying as possible next topics to consider. Read the help files in Tapped In that deal with having effective meetings. Remember that you can "project" a website to everyone as a way of illustrating a point. If possible, please attend some of the sessions listed on the calendar of events so that you can watch how others familiar with Tapped In make use of these capabilities.
